Prediction of the factors influencing cervical cancer screening using the extended protection motivation model: A path analysis

Background and aims: Cervical cancer is one of the most common cancers female reproductive system. Despite importance cervical screening in early detection, uptake poor. The present study aimed to predict factors that influence behavior Iranian women visiting health centers. Methods: This cross-sectional was performed on 661 age referred centers Karaj, Iran, 2021, who were selected by convenience sampling. Data collection with a multi-sectional questionnaire designed collect information about demographic characteristics constructs Protection Motivation Theory (PMT) emotional support. analysis using SPSS version 24.0, AMOS 24. Results: mean participants 38.2±13.77. Most had high school diploma moderate socioeconomic status. results showed direct effect intention (β=0.54) fear (β=-0.66). Perceived self-efficacy greatest indirect through (β=0.34). All protection motivation except response cost (β=0.06) significant behavior.
